A hamster befriends the snake that should have eaten it
At a zoo in the Japanese capital, a hamster not only escaped being devoured by a snake but lives peacefully together with whom should have been its predator.
The diet of Aochan, a 1.2 meter long snake, consisted in frozen rodents, but there came the day when he got fed up with it, so zoo employees decided to give him a live hamster. However, Aochan refused to eat the 9-centimeter rodent, who from then on began to be called Gohan ("meal").
A zookeeper said he had never seen anything like that, and that he did not understand how they became friends. "Aochan seems to enjoy Gohan's company a lot," he pointed out. The rodent even falls asleep on top of the reptile.
